Tri-Town Drainage Study
Town of Frederick, Colorado
Civil Resources prepared the flood study for 2.5 miles in the upper reaches of the Tri-Town drainage channel in Frederick, Colorado. The hydraulic evaluation included a HEC-RAS model of the existing channel, identifying areas of ditch overtopping and erosion problems. This data was then used to prepare a future conditions HEC-RAS model with proposed capacity and erosion improvements in the channel which included regrading the side slopes and the inverts of the channel, utilizing retaining walls and grade control structures to increase the capacity of the ditch and minimize flooding. This project also included removing an existing 48-inch RCP culvert and replacing it with a 6’x30′ triple box culvert to convey 1679 cfs under Wetland Loop in the No Name Creek Subdivision to ease local flooding.
